Trekking to Root 174 Mountain Bike Ride
Monday, August 6th, 6:00PM
Root 174, Trek of Pittsburgh and East End Brewing Co. are hosting another mountain bike ride for BikeFest this year! After the awesome success of this ride last year we decided that we had a winning formula so we’d give it another go. Trek is bringing their entire fleet of demo mountain bikes for anyone who would like to try them out; we’re providing complimentary post-ride snacks and apps; East End is providing beers free of charge to everyone who participates! This is a ride for experienced mountain bikers and will comprise singletrack trails. Please arrive no later than 5:15 if you wish to ride a demo bike. Please bring photo ID if you wish to demo a bike or drink a beer!

Root 174 movie night
Movie night at Root! The last Tuesday of every month we turn our restaurant into a mini movie theater. We show “b” style movies. Root encourages friendly banter during theses showings. Seating starts around 9:00 and movie starts around 9:30. Did I mention we serve our own styles of popcorn.
Root 174 Family night/Sunday funday
Third Sunday of every month is Family dinner. We push all the tables and you get to meet some of Root extended family. Keith kind of does a Off the cuff style cooking that night. It’s around 5 courses and always exciting. Seating starts at 6:00 and reservations recommended. Be here or eat alone.

Feast on a seven-course meal prepared by chefs Kate Romane of e2 and Keith Fuller of Root 174 in the new zombie-proof barn. Local brews by East End Brewing. Specialty potion concocted by the chefs. Gather by the bonfire, enjoy a screening of Night Of The Living Dead, or roam the farm and take your chances of encountering one of our free-ranging zombies.
If you dare, wander into the Trundle Manor tent and let our special guests introduce you to their macabre collection of authentic taxidermy, jarred animals, sadistic devices, old-world coffins and vast array of creepshow oddities.
The last remaining survivor will walk away with $50 gift certificates to e2 and Root 174 and a ticket to one of next year’s farm dinners.
Frightened that you’ll stand out among the undead? Make-up artist Brittany Leshen of Pageboy will be on-site zombifying guests for a nominal fee.
Please note: Zombies prefer fresh meat so we won’t be providing any vegetarian options for this event.
